Dr. Rachid Chamoun, former Director of LAU-Louis Cardahi Foundation and Advisor to the Lebanese Minister of Tourism for international relations in his capacity as the representative for Lebanon to the Enlarged Partial Agreement into the Governing Board of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, and in his position representing the Lebanese American University University (LAU) into the University Network for Cultural Routes Studies, Council of Europe. During to the 12th Annual Advisory Forum on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, Łódź , Poland .
As of this year, Lebanon is among the 40 member States of the Enlarged Partial Agreement participating to the 48 Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (EPA). Lebanon crossing 4 distinguished cultural routes; the Phoenicians Route, legado Andalucia , Iter Vitis (Wine Route) and the Route of the Olive Tree.
Lebanon is also very active in academic and scientific research in the field of cultural heritage and sustainable cultural tourism through the participation of the Lebanese American University among the 22 Universities across Europe and the Mediterranean region.
Dr. Chamoun is proud to be entrusted by his Excellency, Lebanese Minister of tourism Eng. Walid Nassar and LAU president Dr. Michel Mawad into this mission of strategic partnership and seek to sustain Lebanon’s cultural position into the Enlarged Partial Agreement (EPA), into the European Institute of Cultural Routes (EICR), of the Council of Europe.

The Council of Europe Cultural Routes’ programme is celebrating its 35th anniversary at the 11th Advisory Forum which is taken place in Chania, Greece from 5-7 October 202. The Forum is organized by the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe and the European Institute of Cultural Routes, in co-operation with the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports , the Hellenic Ministry of Tourism, the Greek National Tourism Organization, the Region of Crete, The Municipality of Chania, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Chania, and the Historic cafes Route.
